Shopping photos

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

I wanted to share some of the shopping that I have done this last week.$0.50

These are the smallest full sized bags of granola I have ever seen but they are SO yummy! And for the price of 10 bags for $0.50 I am not going to complain!

If you don’t like junk food LOOK AWAY but it is all gluten free!

$3.98

25 boxes of cereal

25 boxes of fruit snacks all with box tops (that makes me the coolest mom EVER, according to my kiddos)

2 bags spring mix greens

PICKLES

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Out of all the wonderful foods in life I think that a good pickle ranks near the top. So how does someone get good pickles? The really good homemade pickles like the ones that Great Aunt Bessie from Indiana used to make. Well I have a number of problems to overcome….

First, I don’t garden. My heels sink in the mud and my worst fear in the entire world is slugs. I would walk a block (in heels) around a slug and in the great northwest slugs are as common as rainy days and bikes in the city.

Shopping!

Fun! Fun! Fun!

I just wanted to share a few of the transactions that I have done over the last few days.
Wal-mart $3.44

  • 1 – coffee pot
  • 1 – coffee filters
  • 1 – jammies for Zoe
  • 7 lbs bananas
  • 2 – boxes kotex
  • 6 – boxes gelatin
  • 3 – 12 count razors (to donate)
  • 1 – trident gum

Total paid $3.44

I have been having a great time with the overage at Wal-mart! Now keep in mind that Wal-mart gets reimbursed for the full coupon amount PLUS the handling charge. Everyone wins when couponing is done right!

Life Without Walls

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Have you ever taken a work buddy out for a drink and wondered “Who is this guy?” Then you see them in church the next week with their arms lifted high at worship but you know they just cussed you out the day before? So what does a life without walls look like?

This subject has bothered me for many years. So consider this a WARNING! If you continue to read you will see my life without walls.

Really, my life is just all about sex and money. Aren’t all our lives really about sex and money? Both are basic needs of most people, and I am no different. Except that I like to talk about it!

A Tribute to Mama Maniac

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

To our surprise, Mama Maniac passed away on January 6, 2010. We had no idea that she had leukemia or that any illness could move so fast. We had 13 days from her diagnosis until she was gone. She was so much to me. She was my business partner, my biggest supporter and critic, she was an honest friend, she laughed with me she cried with me. She was the one that inspired me to do crazy things. She would wake up in the morning and say, “Jessica, we have to make a music video! It is going to be crazy fun!!!” Then we would put the thoughts to action, we worked side by side. Last of all she was my mother, the stories we share and the history that we have together will not ever be forgotten.

Black Friday Madness!

Monday, November 30th, 2009

In all my years of Black Friday shopping, this year takes the cake! The shoppers came out of the woodwork … more than I’ve ever seen! A poor economy will cause people to join us at 4 am more than most other things. Electronics were at great prices, but clothing was what everyone was looking for. We didn’t get a lot this year. Found better deals shopping the Money Maniac way at Walgreens! What did you do for Black Friday??? I’d love to know….

Pie & ice cream 84% off!

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

This is Mama Maniac here….

Last night we put together a quick deal. We saved 83.8% off retail for some of the yummiest stuff. Here’s how it went… We got one 20-lb. turkey, 8 Sara Lee pies, 8 Breyers ice creams, 8 lbs. of apples, 10 lbs. of potatoes, and a large container of Folgers coffee for only $25.08. All that retailed for $154.58! Didn’t take a picture of it, sorry. I did have apple pie and ice cream for dinner last night though! Nothing quite as sweeeeeet as pie and ice cream deals!

Life is sticky

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Someday I will conquer this blog, until then I am just going to make mistakes. Please read past the double posts and incomplete thoughts….

In life sometimes we find ourselves in sticky situations. Sometimes life just sticks to us. It is a test of character in how we respond to the sticky situations, and sometimes the only choice is to stick fruit snacks to your face.

The tale of caramel

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

I was so excited about a great find today, caramel and apples for almost free! We did 3 very quick transactions totaling 33 cents and we got 5 pounds of apples and 12 containers of flavored caramel! So we rush home and serve dinner which included caramel apples, of course! The kids are going crazy… Then we all take a bite. Hmmmm, not even the kids will eat it. Now what?!?! What is so wrong with the ‘NORMAL’ flavor of caramel??? Some things should never change.

Not Just Food

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

I love clothes! But I really love nice clothes for a REALLY good price. Mom and I went shopping at Lane Bryant a couple days ago and got 4 pair of pants, 2 jackets, and 2 sweaters. All for under $31! They had ‘last years’ winter jeans and slacks on the clearance, then using one of their promotions we got half off the clearance price which made each piece less that $4. That is better than thrift shops!
